The pier station in Dun Laoghaire Harbour served ferries and boat trains for over 120 years. Opened in 1859, it was connected to the mainline through a short tunnel under Queens Road. The siding was disconnected in 1980 as part of the DART preparatory works.
The pier station was controversially demolished in 2009/2010 without planning permission and the pier structure is in use as a car park.
